Your bed bug travel routine
On arrival
Put luggage in the bath (not on the bed or floor). Peel back sheets and check mattress seams, headboard and bedside table for dark spots or bugs. Move rooms if you see anything.
During the stay
Keep suitcase closed on a luggage rack away from walls. Never store clothes in wooden drawers. Keep dirty laundry in a sealed plastic bag.
Back in the UK
Unpack outside or in the garage. Tumble dry ALL clothing on high heat for 30 minutes — this kills every stage. Vacuum out the suitcase before storing it.
