Any items that are removed from the bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge can be put in the kitchen for examination and to be hand-heated before we carry out the full industrial heat treatment.
Sprinklers, heat detectors, smoke detectors and WiFi alarm systems must be drained or disarmed before treatment. Tick every item in the Fire, safety & alarm systems section.

Once you have ticked off the checklist above, please upload clear photos of every room to be treated (up to 10 photos). This gives our technicians a full visual record of the property before we arrive, helps us confirm your preparation is complete, and speeds up the treatment on the day.

Disclaimer & agreement
I confirm that I have read and completed the preparation instructions above to the best of my ability. I understand that Extreme Heat Force UK will carry out a chemical-free heat treatment at the address provided, and that internal temperatures will reach levels capable of damaging heat-sensitive items (including but not limited to wax candles, aerosols, vinyl, certain plastics, live plants and pets). I understand that IKEA furniture, flat-pack furniture and other laminated or veneered items are heat-sensitive, and the laminate edging or trim may soften, lift or unstick during treatment. I confirm that all such items have been removed from the treatment area and accept full responsibility for any items left in the property. I agree to provide safe access for the duration of the treatment (typically 4–6 hours) and confirm the information I have given is accurate. I also understand that the 6-month guarantee is void if the infestation is proven to be re-entering from a neighbouring property, and that no refund will be given in those circumstances.
By proceeding with the treatment booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the preparation checklist and disclaimer.
If the checklist or disclaimer is not returned signed, your agreement to go ahead with the treatment will still be taken as confirmation that all preparation requirements, terms and disclaimers have been accepted.

Important Information
Our industrial heat treatment is one of the most effective ways of eliminating bed bugs. However, as with any process involving high temperatures, there are thousands of different household items, materials, finishes and possessions that may react differently to heat. It is simply not possible to identify or list every item that could potentially be affected.
While we take every reasonable care throughout the treatment and provide a preparation guide to help minimise any risks, we cannot accept responsibility for damage to any heat-sensitive items, materials or belongings. The purpose of the treatment is to safely eradicate the infestation, and by proceeding with the treatment you acknowledge and accept this.
If you are unsure whether an item may be sensitive to heat, we recommend removing it from the treatment area before our arrival.
Things to Be Aware Of During a Professional Heat Treatment
Professional heat treatments are a highly effective way of eliminating bed bugs. In the vast majority of cases, properties are treated without any problems. However, as with any process that involves raising temperatures, some materials may react slightly, particularly if they are older, already damaged or poorly installed.
On rare occasions, the following may occur:
- Existing hairline cracks in plaster or ceilings may become slightly more noticeable.
- Older or loose plaster may develop small cracks.
- Previously damaged or loose paint may flake.
- Decorators' caulk around skirting boards or door frames may separate slightly.
- Loose wallpaper edges or seams may lift.
- Some silicone sealants may soften or separate.
- Natural wood and wood-based products may expand or contract slightly before returning to normal.
- Poorly fitted laminate or engineered flooring may experience minor movement.
- Veneered or MDF furniture with ageing adhesives may occasionally show lifting around the edges.
- Some plastic or faux wood blinds may be affected by prolonged exposure to heat.
To help protect your belongings, please remove all heat-sensitive items listed on the preparation checklist before we arrive. If you are unsure about any particular item, please contact us before your appointment and we will be happy to advise.
What to do before we arrive
Follow these three simple categories so our technicians can heat every corner safely and effectively.
Remove from the bedrooms and Lounge and place in the kitchen
- Pressurised aerosol cans (deodorants, hairspray, cooking sprays)

- Vinyl records, unmounted photographic film, fresh-cut flowers
- Chocolate, soft cheese and temperature-sensitive food
- Live houseplants
- Pets — cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, reptiles out for the day
Bag before treatment
- Bedding and pillowcases in sealed bin liners
- Recently-worn clothing sealed in bags
- Soft toys sealed in bags
- Empty washing baskets into sealed bags
- Leave all bags in the room so they're treated too
Leave exactly where it is
- Mattresses, beds and bedframes
- Sofas and armchairs
- Wardrobes and drawers
- Books, electronics and most artwork
- Most furniture stays in place for better airflow
Access & parking
- We need around 4–6 hours on-site.
- Parking close to the front door speeds setup.
- Hand over a key or arrange a meeting time.
- You don't need to be present during treatment — we'll lock up.
The night before
Strip the bed and bag the linen. Pull furniture 10cm away from external walls if you can. Empty washing baskets into sealed bags. That's it.
